Impact
Queer Food is a certified social enterprise!
Our four main pillars are to share Trans* and Queer* stories through food, improve Trans* and Queer* employment opportunities, advocate for better LGBTQIA+ policies and build a fund to go towards improving access to Trans* medical care and to support other Trans* or Queer* ventures. On this page, we will share our progress towards working towards our impact goals.
You can read our impact pillars report here.

Advocacy and Resources
After consulting with our community during the development of our impact pillars report, accessible here. We identified two key areas for improvement. First, we need to define our advocacy goals more clearly and communicate how we plan to implement them. Second, we need to share more resources focused on support for LGBTQIA+ people and intersectionalities of the community.
Advocacy
Given the recent hormone ban for trans youth in Queensland, our advocacy this year will prioritise two key goals: repealing the ban and pushing for Medicare to cover all gender-affirming care. We will aim to do this through the actions below, and we encourage you to as well!
Actions you can take in relation to the hormone ban for trans youth in Queensland:

Resources
We created a resource list here. It is not exhaustive, and if you’d like to add anything to the list, please get in touch, and we will make sure to add it!
As always, please get in touch and provide feedback; we’re always open to learning and supporting in the ways that we can!
Queer Food Impact Fund
We developed our Queer Food Impact Fund after extensive research. For every retail item sold on our website, catering box, 5 canapés, and meal at public events purchased, we donate $1 to our impact fund to go towards improving access to trans* medical care and to support other trans* or queer* ventures.
We will track how much we have donated here, and share more information about our impact, as it is established further.
If you’d like to donate directly to the fund, you can do so by clicking the button below.
