Queer Food creates delicious food products that celebrate LGBTQIA+ stories and help improve access to gender-affirming care.
A portion of every Queer Food sale contributes to our Impact Fund, which provides community-led micro-grants to help trans people meet the costs of gender-affirming care.
With support from The Snow Foundation, we are working with A Gender Agenda to shape the Fund’s first public grant round, planned for early 2027.
This is part of our longer-term vision: a community-led Medicare for trans people, combining direct support with the research and advocacy needed to improve access to care into the future.

Sustainability is a core part of our business and it is something that we will always continue to work on. For now, we have seven main ways we are trying to reduce our impact on the environment:
We only order what is needed and manage stock so that we do not have excess that may go off.
We focus on building relationships with local suppliers who are able to provide us with the best quality food.
We donate our leftover food to Folk House, an ACT social housing initiative that supports LGBTQIA+ people experiencing housing insecurity.
We aim to source the most ethical and environmentally friendly packaging available. All our packaging is either home-compostable, industry compostable, recyclable, or reusable.
We have chosen to be gas-free. Our kitchen is run completely on electricity to reduce our use of fossil fuels and our greenhouse gas emissions.
We are also hoping to one day run off solar electricity, but for now, that is a future dream.
