The Rainbow Pasta Range began with Rav Hind, better known as Ravi Oli, whose high-glamour performances have made him a standout in Canberra’s drag king scene. Ravioli — cheeky, bold, and delicious — now features on our catering menu as a tribute to Rav’s saucy brilliance.
But this range is about more than one performer. It’s a tribute to a whole community of kings who’ve shaped a bold, creative, and deeply rooted culture in the capital.
Take Megan Munro, better known as Sparklemuffin. Since 2006, they’ve been performing, mentoring, and running drag king workshops, helping to grow a scene that’s welcoming, expressive, and unafraid to challenge the norm.
There’s also Lea Maddocks, or Guy Alias, founder of Alias Cabaret, Canberra’s longest-running drag variety night. It’s become a vital space for emerging performers and a home for queens, kings, monarchs and drag in all its forms.
Zapp Backagain brings sharp satire and punk energy to the stage, reminding us that drag can be both political and joyful. Their work continues to push boundaries and expand what drag can be.
Together, these performers have created more than shows, they’ve built a movement.
Our Rainbow Pasta Range now features two expressions: handmade ravioli on our catering menu and colourful bowtie pasta in our retail range. Because drag is more than performance, it’s protest, community, and care. And these kings? They’ve been serving for years, and they’re still cooking.
