Open Studio Coffee is a tribute to the quiet, persistent act of creating. It honours the spaces where ideas take shape, where work happens slowly, and where expression is given time to unfold.
For this release, we honour Agnes Goodsir, an Australian artist who dedicated her life to painting. Born in Portland in 1864, Goodsir moved to Paris in the early 20th century, where she lived and worked for decades. At a time when female artists were often excluded from recognition, she carved out her own path, exhibiting regularly at the Paris Salon and establishing herself within an international art community.
Her work is known for its intimate portraits, often of women, capturing presence, mood, and identity with softness and strength. Among her most recognised works is The Chinese Skirt (1933), a portrait that reflects both technical precision and emotional depth. Goodsir lived much of her life alongside her partner, Rachel Dunn, and her work offers a quiet but powerful record of queer presence in a time when it was rarely named.
Open Studio Coffee reflects this same spirit. It’s about making space for creativity, for reflection, and for the everyday rituals that sustain us. Whether shared or taken alone, each cup is an invitation to slow down, to notice, and to create something of your own.
